Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Teela collects and uses personal data in the guest and staff applications, and on teela.in. It is written from how the product actually works — not a generic template.
1. Who we are
Teela, The Glamping Resort (“Teela”, “we”, “us”) is the hospitality operator and the data fiduciary for this policy under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Resort: NH11C Jaipur Delhi Highway, Achrol, Jaipur
Corporate office: S-13, 14 Bhagat Vatika, Opp. Chambal Power House, Civil Lines, Hawa Sadak, Jaipur
Email: mail@teela.in · Phone: +91 78382 68268
Booking confirmations and invoices from the app are sent from bookings@teela.in.
2. What this covers
-
The guest and staff web app at app.teela.in (and the Vercel hostname that serves the same app)
-
The Teela mobile app on the App Store and Google Play, which uses the same guest and staff services
-
The public marketing website at www.teela.in, including the newsletter form in its footer
It does not cover third-party sites we link out to (for example Google Drive photo folders, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, or WhatsApp).
3. What we collect
3.1 When you book a stay or a table
Name, email, mobile number, stay or dining dates, room or meal choices, party size, special requests, and payment confirmation from Razorpay. Travel-partner bookings also include agency name, point of contact, agency email and phone.
3.2 When you check in as a guest
Booking reference and mobile number, then optional stay preferences (drink, mood, dining location, arrival time, special requests). You may also enter an ID type and ID number (Aadhaar or Passport). That number is stored as text so the resort can complete guest verification. You can leave ID blank and complete it at reception instead.
3.3 During your stay
Food orders and cart contents, activity bookings, in-app chat with staff, your folio / bill, transport requests (destination you type), and a log when you tap a staff call button. Stay access uses a unique booking token, not a password.
3.4 Staff using the Teela app
Staff email and password (Supabase Auth). In the course of work, staff also record operational data: reservations, housekeeping and vehicle photos, supplier invoices (which may be sent to an AI parser), guest messages, and SOS alerts.
3.5 Marketing website (www.teela.in)
If you submit the “Stay connected” form, we receive the email address you enter and whether you opted in to news and offers. Contacting mail@teela.in or calling the published number also creates a correspondence record.
3.6 What we do not collect in the app
We do not run advertising pixels or Google Analytics in the guest/staff app. The web app does not request your location or guest photos. We do not sell personal data.
4. How we use it
-
To take, confirm, and honour bookings, tables, and in-stay orders
-
To identify you at check-in and personalise the stay
-
To take payment, issue GST invoices, and keep accounts
-
To message you about your booking (email, and WhatsApp where a stay link is sent)
-
To run the property (housekeeping, kitchen, transport, staff chat)
-
To send marketing email only if you opted in on the marketing site
-
To meet hotel, tax, and other legal duties in India
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only as needed to run Teela:
-
Supabase — database, auth, and file storage (region: Singapore, ap-southeast-1)
-
Vercel — hosts the web app and API
-
Razorpay — card / UPI / net-banking checkout and payment verification
-
Resend — transactional email from bookings@teela.in
-
eZee — property-management sync for some bookings
-
Anthropic — staff-only invoice parsing (supplier bills, not guest chat)
-
Google — fonts on the web app; optional SOS push via FCM if configured
-
WhatsApp — staff may open a wa.me link to send your stay or payment message; we do not operate a WhatsApp Business API from this app
We may also disclose data if Indian law, a court, or a regulator requires it, or to our professional advisers bound to confidentiality.
6. Storage and retention
-
Guest stay token: kept in the browser for that tab session and cleared when the session ends or the token is invalid
-
Staff login: kept in the browser until you sign out
-
Draft food cart and travel-partner token: kept on the device until cleared
-
Booking, payment, invoice, and guest-register records: kept for as long as Indian tax and hospitality rules require, then deleted or anonymised
-
Marketing email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to erase it
Servers for the guest/staff app are outside India (Singapore for the database). Razorpay processes payments in India. Using the app means this data may be transferred to those countries with the safeguards those providers apply.
7. Cookies and device storage
The Teela web app does not set advertising cookies. It uses:
-
sessionStorage — teela_token, teela_guest (stay session)
-
localStorage — teela_cart, teela_staff_auth, teela_staff_lang, teela_agent_token
Razorpay’s checkout script may set its own cookies when you pay. Google Fonts may be requested from Google’s servers. www.teela.in is hosted on Wix and may use Wix’s own cookies for that site to function.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may request access, correction, or erasure of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example marketing email). Some records we must keep for tax or hotel law cannot be erased on request.
Email mail@teela.in with the subject “Privacy request”. We will respond within the time the Act requires. If you are unhappy with the response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India once that grievance route is available to you.
The apps are intended for adults. We do not knowingly take online bookings from children under 18 without a parent or guardian.
